Why a FORTIFIED roof pays for itself in Gulf Shores
A discount the state requires
Alabama insurers must give FORTIFIED homes a discount on the wind portion of the premium — typically 20–35% for FORTIFIED Roof and more for Silver and Gold. On the coast that is often the largest line on the bill.

The state and IBHS studied more than 40,000 Mobile and Baldwin homes after Sally: FORTIFIED homes had 55–74% fewer claims. That is why the discount exists.
